Answer engine optimization
Be the answer AI gives.
A growing share of searches now end in a generated answer rather than a list of links. We measure where your brand stands in those answers, and build the content, structure, and outside corroboration that gets you cited in them.
Scope
What the work includes.
Most engagements begin with measurement, because almost nobody currently knows where they stand.
Visibility monitoring
Prompt sampling at volume across the major assistants, tracked over time: how often you are cited, against which competitors, and in what language.
Answer-first content
Pages structured so a retrieval system can lift a complete, correct passage out of them without needing the surrounding context to make sense of it.
Entity & corroboration
The work off your own domain — how you are described across retailers, review sites, directories, and reference sources that models draw on.
Structured data
Schema, specifications, and machine-readable facts that let a system state something about you with confidence rather than hedging or skipping you.
Product data for agents
Availability, pricing, attributes, shipping and returns expressed explicitly — because an agent cannot infer from a photograph what a shopper can.
Reporting
Citation rate, share of voice, branded search movement, and assisted conversions — with a clear line between what is measured and what is inferred.
What it looks like in practice
Going after answer slots on purpose.
A content program aimed directly at AI Overviews.
Starting in March 2025 we built a library of informational breed guides for a pet nutrition brand. The targeting was deliberate: not the highest-volume queries, but the questions where an AI Overview was already appearing and where the brand had a realistic chance of being the source it drew from.
That meant selecting questions the site could answer with genuine authority, structuring each guide so a single section answered one question completely and stood on its own, and building out enough coverage of the topic that the site read as a credible source on it rather than a page that happened to mention it.
In the two months before the program started, the domain was cited in an AI Overview for an average of sixteen keywords. It now sits in the high hundreds, and the program continues to expand.

We monitor AI visibility at scale, not by spot-checking prompts.
Asking an assistant a handful of questions and noting the answers tells you very little. Responses vary by phrasing, by session, by user history, and by model version — the same question asked six ways produces six different sets of citations.
So we sample prompts at volume across the major assistants and track the distribution: how often you are cited, for which kinds of question, against which competitors, and in what language. That produces something you can actually manage against, and it establishes a baseline before we change anything, which is the part most of this industry skips.
Retrieval works differently, so the content has to be built differently.
Traditional ranking evaluates a page against a query. Generative answers retrieve passages and synthesize across several sources at once, and a single question often fans out into multiple sub-queries behind the scenes, each pulling a fragment from somewhere different.
That moves the unit of optimization from the page to the passage. Sections need to answer one question completely and stand on their own, without depending on what was established three paragraphs earlier. It is a real change in how content gets written, and it is why work that was designed only to rank often does not get cited.
Models repeat what they can corroborate.
Generative systems weight agreement. When several independent sources describe your brand the same way, that description becomes the answer. When the only source making a claim is your own website, it usually gets left out.
So a meaningful share of this work happens off your domain: how you are characterized by retailers, review sites, industry publications, and structured reference sources. This is also why it cannot be rushed. Corroboration accumulates, and there is no version of it you can buy in a month.
Appearing in an answer is not the same as being recommended in it.
There is a wide gap between being listed among six options and being the one the assistant suggests. Both look like a citation in a tracking tool, and they are entirely different commercial positions.
We track presence and framing separately — whether you appear, and what is said about you when you do. A brand described as a budget option has a different problem to a brand that never comes up, and the two need different work. Knowing which one you have is the first useful thing this discipline produces.
Agentic commerce will arrive faster than most catalogs are ready for.
When software does the buying, your product data is the storefront. Availability, pricing, specifications, shipping terms, return policy — everything a human shopper infers from a photograph and a familiar layout has to be stated explicitly and read machine to machine.
Catalogs that are clean, complete, and structured will get transacted against. Ones that are not will simply be passed over, with no bounce rate and no abandoned cart to tell you it happened. Getting that data right is unglamorous and it is the single most concrete preparation available right now.
We are straight about what can and cannot be measured here.
AI search produces influence without a session. Somebody can read about you in an answer, form an opinion, and arrive two weeks later by typing your brand name — and no analytics package will ever connect those two events.
We work with what is genuinely observable: citation rates, share of voice, branded search volume, referral traffic from assistants that pass it, and movement in assisted conversions. We label which figures are measured and which are inference. Anyone offering you precise attribution for AI search at this stage is describing something that does not exist yet.

Book a call and we will run a visibility baseline for your brand across the major assistants — how often you come up, who comes up instead, and what is being said about you. That is a useful thing to know whether or not you work with us afterwards.
